Just days after breaking racial barriers in ballet, Misty Copeland has her toes pointed toward Broadway.
The American Ballet Theatre’s first African-American principal dancer is set to make her Broadway debut in August, tackling the role of Ivy Smith in “On the Town.”
“We are so thrilled to have Misty joining us at this momentous time in her career,” Howard Kagan, the musical’s producer, announced Sunday night.
Copeland, 32, is scheduled to take the stage at the Lyric Theatre on W. 42 St. for 12 performances from Aug. 25 through Sept. 6. Read more…
