It was inevitable that Baz Luhrmann’s “Moulin Rouge” would be adapted into a stage musical, although it did take a while. It was confirmed late last week that the project is now in development. Alex Timbers (who was recently removed from the Broadway-bound “Frozen”) will direct and John Logan (“Red”) will write the book. In a statement, Luhrmann praised Timbers’ inventive work on “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” and “Here Lies Love” and said that they “shared similar sensibilities and instincts.” Read more…
