A Broadway revival of a little-known Eugene O’Neill play, “Hughie,”features some choice slang that is likely to be unfamiliar to contemporary audiences — most of them words that O’Neill heard on the streets of New York in the late-19th and early-20th centuries. Here are some of the more unusual terms that appear in the play. Take your best guess at what they mean.
