In 1966 the country was still reeling from the deaths of JFK, and we are soon to lose MLK, Malcolm X and RFK. We were sitting in what seemed to be an unending war. It was a very despondent time in American history. 1966 answered that despondence with a little “tap happy” show named Dames at Sea, and it began a 60 year journey to Broadway finally settling itself in at the historic Helen Hayes Theater in October of 2015.
